The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) has been recognized as the top independent entity for financial performance during the 5th Financial Performance Excellence Award ceremony. The event, hosted by the Sharjah Finance Department, aimed to honor government, independent, princely, and educational organizations demonstrating exceptional financial management.
Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority, received the award on behalf of HFZA at Al Qasimia University Theater. Also present were HE Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority and HFZA Finance Team
HFZA’s achievement has been the result of its compliance with required standards, a comprehensive financial portfolio based on an innovative strategy, advanced budgeting practices, and clear performance indicators for each financial goal. HFZA has also leveraged the latest accounting software and continuously trained its financial staff to achieve excellence and leadership in financial performance.
This is not the first time that HFZA has won the Financial Performance Excellence Award. It previously won the award in 2018 and was also recognized as the leading government entity in applying revenue standards in 2019.
The award recognizes qualitative financial entrepreneurship for government agencies at all levels and in various industries, covering budgets, accounts, procurement, revenues, auditing, financial control, financial initiatives, and projects. The award also highlights the important role of individuals working in the financial affairs of government agencies under the public money management system.
