The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA), through its Food Section organized the first On-the-Job Food Safety campaign as part of its ongoing efforts to promote safe food-handling practices and strengthen health and hygiene standards across the food sector.
The month-long campaign was conducted on-site instead of typical classroom set up to provide the food handlers more hands-on experience and comprehensive understanding of the safety protocols and functions of professional kitchen. It was emphasized among employees and workers the importance of following proper procedures throughout the different stages of food handling. It highlighted essential practices such as maintaining personal hygiene, preventing cross-contamination, ensuring correct food storage and handling, and keeping work areas and equipment clean and safe.
The initiative reflects HFZA’s continued commitment to supporting businesses operating within its Food Park and encouraging the adoption of best practices that contribute to a safe, sustainable and high-quality food industry.
